The mics were designed by AKG in Vienna. A low-cut filter at Hz allows you to cut unwanted low end from your sources, while perceptioon selectable dB pad allows the mic to handle SPLs up to dB, allowing it to be placed in front of a variety of sources.
Designed with durability in mind, the quality construction of this professional mic allows you to take the AKG with you on the go, and comes with its own carrying case. Every nuance with no distortion even when recording saxophone which is quite loud. I use it ag an instrument mic for a mandolin in a bluegrass band and is is great.

My fist time using the microphone i couldn't be more happy with the quality i was getting. The duplication of unnecessary circuity suggests that the Perception was copied somewhat blindly from a schematic rather than from an analysis of the working microphone.
This is extremely important when doing voice over work. The included spider suspension shock mount protects against noise caused by vibration and shock. As an Indie Filmmaker, we look for high value items with great quality.
Like all the large-diaphragm Perception microphones, the Perception uses an output transformer. The value of this microphone and the case it comes in is truly wonderful.
The performance is almost identical.

This is a great purchase to add to my sound gear H4n, Audio Technica shotgun mic and multiple lav mics. Other microphones tend to pick up disturbances from lights, monitors and other electrical items, but this microphone does a very good job at protecting itself from them, I guess this has to do with the really solid metal body which also provides great protection making it a very strong, robust microphone.
Not a powerful mic but good for medium rooms and small crowds.
